I’ve just finished a book about the idea of the hotel in modern culture, written with my friend Caroline Levander, now titled: Hotel Life and forthcoming from UNC press. I’m working on a vast collection on the history of race, titled The Oxford Handbook on the History of Race. And, inevitably, a few other small projects.
But I’ve also begun two other large-scale projects: a book on Clark Rockefeller and the phenomenon of class passing, and a global life of the queer, cosmopolitan, human rights icon, Roger Casement.
